The Rice Lake vacation area is located in Central Ontario, south of Peterborough and 1.5 hours northeast of Toronto. It is part of a larger tourism area known as Northumberland County.

The Rice Lake vacation area offers an incredible diversity of attractions for all visitors. The Lake is the main attraction, appealing to fishermen, nature lovers, water sports enthusiasts, and the many people who simply wish to get away, get some fresh air, sunshine and relax.

The lake is 23 miles long and 3-4 miles across and contains 20 islands of various sizes. It is the outlet of the Otonabee River and the source of the Trent River. It is part of the scenic and fascinating Trent Severn Waterways, a 240 mile system of rivers, lakes, canals, and locks which enables boaters to travel from Trenton on the Bay of Quinte to Port Severn on Georgian Bay.
